Call me Clumpy

It's a bargain. Tastes really good. Not the best but worth it. Be patient when whisking as its a bit clumpy. I purchased it again to confirm this and the second packet was the same way. I would however buy it again.

Impressive matcha anyone NEEDS to try one day! I have NEVER tested anything like this before.

This matcha is magical. I tried it first time just with water as I wanted to taste it in its pure form. I did all the ritual the right way, water in the right temperature, sifting, mixing it until foamy…. And once I tried I was mind blown!!!! NO bitterness. This doesn’t exist with matcha powders - even the most expensive ones of big name brands if you try them pure they will be bitter - in different levels. This one however is SWEET, mellow, light but with deep umami flavor. Incredible. Crazy expensive but I understand why. Exceptional quality.

Small quantity, but great quality

This Matcha pack comes in a pretty small bag, but the quality of the Matcha is great. They are very easy to use to enhance the flavor of your teas. It tastes great and blends very well into hot water. The color of tea is amazing with a very nice green color. I would say the quality of the Matcha is great, but it would be better value for money if it came in a bigger bag.

Good but expensive

Definitely a premium matcha but too expensive for the small amount.

High quality matcha, no bitterness at all

Very good quality matcha. No bitter taste at all. It has a nice savory depth when whisked with hot water, perfect for sipping. It's too good to be used for baking so I'm saving it to make tea and matcha latte only.

I don’t usually write reviews but I seen this one didn’t have much so I thought I’d partake. as a matcha lover I care for quality and the taste and what the collective thinks so I thought this may be insightful for others this one IS IT! the taste was earthy but not bitter the color vibrant I was a frequent purchase of the noaki one but this one is as great maybe even better!! If ur thinking about trying it I encourage you to do so.

Must have Uji Matcha

I am extremely particular with my match, and for some reason, I really love this brand knowing it’s an Uji one as well.

It is subtle, and I love the color of this one.

I would buy again. I hope you get more reviews of this one.

Well done

Just half a teaspoon of this stuff in your tea will give you an immune health boost that you won't believe. Give it some time to get in your system say roughly 2 to 3 weeks and you will understand where I'm coming from.

Beautiful High Grade Matcha!

This tea is probably very close to what bliss tastes like! Smooth, rich and a deep grassy green, this tea is almost worth the price! Now I say "almost" simply because to me, almost all matcha is a higher price than I am usually willing to spend on any drink. This one could almost change my mind though!

Smooth taste

I had purchased Matcha before this, and I had no idea that Ceremonial matcha existed. The taste of this Matcha is exquisite. It has no bitter taste. It is smooth and has almost a buttery taste. It is expensive, but the taste is definitely worth it!

Hello, We recently came back

Hello, We recently came back from a lovely trip to Japan and particularly to Kyoto, Unfortunately we did not have a chance to visit Uji, however we took note of their stellar and uncompromising reputation, Back home we decided to educate ourselves and learn how to make a ritual great matcha, with grace and respect to traditions, So we ordered from Uji of course! It is absolutely delicious, creamy, very fresh and fragrant, Oishī! Kind and grateful thank you to all involve in the production, from start to cup! Warm regards, Mimi Paris-Jacaruso

Delicious matcha

This matcha is delicious. It's best to have a whisk because the matcha needs to be mixed right. I didn't have one I still had a lot of powder at the bottom of mine. I felt pretty good after drinking it and it tastes very fresh.

Quality Brewable Matcha

I enjoy a nice matcha on these cold winter days. There is something about how it makes you feel over drinking a coffee, and this Ceremonial Grade Matcha delivers!

If it's not ceremonial grade, it's not for brewing and drinking, it's for blending and mixing!

Wow! Just wow! I have to admit, I'm relatively new when it comes to matcha, just getting into it really, and this is one of the best I've tasted! I just finished my first bulk tin from the membership store, and thought that it was time to kick it up a notch. Well, this literally blows that membership store stuff away. In speaking with some Japanese Matcha Aficionados, I got the basic education about Matcha, primarily that Matcha that is not ceremonial or competition grade is not for brewing and drinking, rather it's for blending and mixing... and the membership warehouse stuff is NOT ceremonial grade.

Ceremonial grade matcha is the highest quality Matcha. It's Matcha made from first flush, shade-grown leaves with no stems or veins. Competition grade Matcha is often a blend of first and second flush, and may contain stems and/or veins.

Much like coffee beans, matcha can take on different flavor profiles depending on every step of the growth, harvest, and the processing. Matcha from Uji, Kyoto, Japan is one of the premium sources of matcha and is world renown. Time of harvest also affects quality. The first-harvest (spring) is the best, but that also makes it more expensive. Another premium factor about this blend is that it's single-origin, meaning it's all harvested from the same geographical region (not necessary from a single plant).

But one of the most impressive things about this Matcha noted from my Matcha aficionado's was that it was stone-ground by a Level 10 Tea Master. When I asked why that was impressive, they told me that there are only about 15 such Masters in all of Japan and Uji has only ONE. They had no doubt about the validity of the claim, and warned me that such a matcha could cost upwards of USD$1,000/kilogram! About $1/gram or as much as $30/oz. Level 10 Tea Masters exercise the highest standards with the entire process and carry on traditions that are hundreds of years old. From ensuring shade-matching of the leaves to micro-lot stone grinding. Having been stone-ground in micro lots by a Level 10 Tea Master also means that this is small batch processed and not mass produced. The leaves are milled slowly to preserve sweetness, umami, and aroma.

The texture of this tea is incredibly smooth; rich and velvety at the same time. Flavor profile is well balanced; the umami is front and center. There is no bitterness or toasted elements. The fact that it's shade-grown is evident with that deep green color. The small batch milling ensures freshness and quality, and quite frankly, it's the best matcha I've ever had. To me, this is not premium matcha, it's Ultra-Premium Matcha!

The price is pretty much spot on with that $1,000/kg as this 1.05oz package is retailing for $27 ($25.51/oz), but it's totally worth it. I brew my tea with distilled water heated to 175°F (because that's the setting I have on my water boiler) using 1g of this matcha powder per ounce of water and it tastes fantastic! I've tried it using tap water, filtered water, spring water, mineral water, and purified water as well, but in the end, I found that distilled water tastes the best to me. The water is softer and brings out the sweetness better IMO (next best type of water for me is the purified bottled water.) At $27 for the 30g bag. you're looking at 90¢/g. This does make it quite expensive, but relatively speaking it's really no different from espresso where I pay $1.75 for a double shot.

high-quality Japanese match to savor

If you want to savor this level 10 matcha tea, use a matcha whisk. My daughter waited until she found her matcha whisk before she used this matcha powder. It's a small bag of matcha powder that's vacuum-sealed. She added a tablespoon instead of just a teaspoon of the powder with tepid water per its instructions and whisked it until not more lumps. By the time she added hot water & cream, it was smooth-looking matcha. So good! She sipped it slowly and enjoyed its high-quality flavor. Her tablespoon serving yielded 3 mugs of good Japanese matcha tea. Yum.

So recommended.

Great ceremonial grade matcha

I'm a big fan of matcha - either in hot water, in a latte with milk or oat milk with or without honey, or in ice cream/gelato, so jumped at the chance to try this new matcha.

It has a vibrant, bright green color, as one would expect from a high quality fresh matcha. It has an earthy, slightly-sweet flavor without much bitterness or astringency.

Overall, the price point is correct for the size of the package and quality of the matcha compared to competitors. I would happily purchase this product again and recommend giving it a try.

Quality Ceremonial Grade Matcha

This was a Christmas gift to go with a Matcha tea set I gave my friend. Today we got together and enjoyed delicious Matcha Lattes together. This is excellent quality Matcha and it only takes a little bit! Seriously, for us we used 1/2 tsp just as suggested and it was the right amount for our tea cups. The instructions are very helpful but there are also a lot of videos out there if you are wanting to learn how to make Matcha with, or without a Matcha set. This whisked and blended so nicely. It was smooth and flavorful. I truly was impressed with the care that was taken to produce this ceremonial grade Matcha. The description and photos in this listing are well worth the read if you wonder about the price of this Matcha and what it means to be ceremonial grade. We found this to be a high quality, lovely Matcha and I'm so glad I got this for her.

One packet...

Came with one packet, which the first and only chance I got to make it, I didn't do the right measurements for hot water, so it didn't taste that good to me. I generally like Matcha tea.
