Wakaba — Daily Ritual First-Harvest Matcha
100% First Harvest Blend | Shade-Grown in Uji | Stone-Milled | Crafted by a Judan Tea Master
Smooth, creamy, and made for every day — Wakaba, our Daily Ritual matcha, is a 100% first-harvest Uji blend built to be your everyday cup. It's at its best in lattes and fine culinary use, and when you whisk it properly it foams up into a creamy, satisfying usucha.
What sets Wakaba apart is the quality-to-price ratio. Most matcha at this price is second-harvest or culinary-grade — Wakaba is genuinely first harvest, a balanced blend of Uji cultivars, shade-grown and stone-milled for freshness. A clear step above the mass-market matchas that fill US shelves, at a price that keeps it in your daily rotation.
Flavor: Green melon, fresh grass, gentle sweet umami
Texture: Silky and round, low astringency
Color: Soft emerald green
Wakaba is grown and crafted in Uji, Kyoto Prefecture, the historic heart of Japanese matcha. Its tencha comes from first-flush fields shaded for over three weeks to build sweetness and umami while keeping bitterness in check — the same growing standard behind our higher tiers.
The leaves are then finished, blended, and stone-milled in Uji under Hiroshi, a Judan (Level 10) Tea Master whose family has crafted tea since 1827. Wakaba is his everyday expression — the same hands behind our Reserve blends, focused here on an honest, reliable daily cup.
Matcha Latte (its everyday home): Whisk 1–2 tsp with a splash of hot water, then combine with steamed milk of your choice for a rich, mellow latte.
Usucha (Thin Tea): Whisk 1–2 tsp with 2–3 oz water at 160–170°F — done right, Wakaba foams into a smooth, creamy cup.
Culinary & Baking: Its clean, forward flavor holds up beautifully in smoothies, ice cream, and baked goods.
Wakaba is a thoughtful blend of first-harvest Uji cultivars, built for the person who drinks matcha every day and shouldn't have to choose between quality and price. Versatile enough for lattes, usucha, and the kitchen, and consistent cup after cup.
Premium first-harvest matcha, at a daily-ritual price.
Wakaba is stone-milled monthly in Uji to protect freshness, aroma, and color, with no additives or fillers — just clean, first-harvest Uji matcha.
