How to Make Usucha (Thin Tea)
Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon (2g) high-quality matcha powder
- 2 oz (60ml) hot water (175°F / 80°C)
Instructions

Boil water and let it cool for about 5 minutes until it reaches 175°F (80°C). -
Sift the matcha powder into a bowl to remove clumps. -
Pour in the hot water. -
Using a bamboo whisk (chasen), whisk in a zigzag motion until the tea becomes frothy. -
Enjoy immediately!
Tip: Avoid using boiling water, as it can make the matcha taste bitter.
